Early Life and Career

William Henry Gates III, commonly known as Bill Gates, was born on October 28, 1955, in Seattle, Washington. From a young age, he exhibited a keen interest in technology and programming. At the age of 13, he began developing software programs for the family's computer.

Microsoft Corporation

In 1975, Gates co-founded Microsoft Corporation with his high school friend, Paul Allen. The company initially specialized in developing programming languages for microcomputers. Gates's vision and leadership played a crucial role in Microsoft's rise to dominance in the software industry.

Under Gates's leadership, Microsoft released innovative operating systems and software applications, including MS-DOS, Windows, and the Microsoft Office suite. These products became ubiquitous in personal computers and shaped the way people used computers for work and personal use.

Legacy and Philanthropy

Gates stepped down as CEO of Microsoft in 2000 to focus on his philanthropic endeavors. He and his wife, Melinda, established the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, one of the largest charitable organizations in the world. The foundation focuses on global health, education, and climate change.
