Farrell to Play Lead Role in Netflix Feature
Academy Award-winning director Edward Berger, known for his acclaimed film "All Quiet on the Western Front," is set to direct "The Ballad of a Small Player," a new Netflix feature film starring Colin Farrell.
Farrell will play the lead role of an American kingpin who embarks on a perilous journey to sell his valuable UK cannabis empire. As he navigates the dangerous world of international drug trafficking, he faces numerous obstacles and threats.
The film is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Ewan MacColl, a Scottish folk singer and songwriter. The screenplay is written by Adam Cooper ("The Devil's Double") and Ronan Bennett ("Top Boy").
"I'm thrilled to work with Colin Farrell on this exciting project," said Berger. "His exceptional talent and charisma will bring depth and authenticity to this complex and enigmatic character."
